Wrapping up 2009, the Bennington Museum is set to bring you another grand year! As we continue to celebrate the history and heritage of the southern Vermont region, and to serve as a center for visual and performing arts that enrich our community and world, our 2010 calendar highlights artists of all media. As in the past, the museum will be closed for the month of January, but will re-open on January 31 with a Free Community Day. With free admission, this is a wonderful time to come and enjoy the special exhibitions, permanent collection, and all that the museum has to offer – Free of Charge. At 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., tours of the museum will be given by museum docents. In addition, there will be free light refreshments and Vermont inspired art activities for children in the schoolhouse. At 2:00 p.m., the museum’s winter exhibition “Vermont Impressions” will be introduced with a gallery talk by Curator of Collections Jamie Franklin. Additionally, you are invited to celebrate the opening of the Annual Student Art Show.
