Vermont Film Series Continues at the Bennington Museum

The Bennington Museum’s second annual Vermont Film Series continues this month with the fourth of six programs - a screening of David Giancola's Illegal Aliens, which will be shown on Friday, January 12 at 7:00 pm. The Vermont Film Series is made possible through generous support from the Applejack Foundation, with additional support provided by the Vermont Film Commission.

Ginacola’s film is a hilarious sci-fi spoof in which aliens assume the forms of “super-hot babes” in order to save Earth from intergalactic forces of evil. The film, which stars Anna Nicole Smith and Joanie Laurer, is sure to ward off the post-holiday blues or the plain old winter doldrums! Please note that this over-the-top comedy is rated R for adult content and language.

A native of Rutland, VT, David Giancola is founder and president of Edgewood Studios, located in Rutland’s Historic Howe Center. David started his film studio after graduating from high school. He has chosen to stay in Vermont, steering clear of Hollywood and New York City. Edgewood Studios is the only continuously running feature film studio in Vermont.

David Giancola will be present during the program to discuss his work and take questions from the audience. One of the signature traits of the museum’s Vermont Film Series is the unique opportunity it offers to meet regional artists of national stature and view their films in an intimate setting.

Admission to each program in the series is $5 per person. Students with valid school ID will be admitted free. Refreshments are available before, during, and after the program.

The Bennington Museum is located at 75 Main St. (Route 9) one mile west of the intersection of Routes 7 and 9 in downtown Bennington, Vermont. For more information, visit the website at www.benningtonmuseum.org or call 802-447-1571.
