Stoneware Lecture - Reminiscences of a Stoneware Researcher and Collector

Please join the Bennington Museum on Friday October 26 for "Reminiscences of a Stoneware Researcher and Collector," presented by William C. Ketchum, Jr. The program is presented as part of the Bennington Museum's ongoing bi-annual lecture series organized in conjunction with the Stoneware Collectors Group. The lecture begins at 4:00 p.m. and is free with museum admission.

Mr. Ketchum is a prominent scholar and collector of early American ceramics, who has written numerous books and articles on the subject. He is an adjunct professor at New York University and American Folk Art Museum and has curated numerous museum exhibitions including A Century of Ceramics in the Lower Hudson Valley (1994/1995) and The Pottery of the State (1974). He has served as a museum and auction house consultant and given presentations at venues including the Smithsonian Institute, Shelburne Museum, Museum of the City of New York and the New York State Museum. Mr. Ketchum has been a collector since 1965. During this presentation, he will discuss his long and illustrious journey as a scholar and collector in the field of early American ceramics, and especially stoneware.
