Junk or Treasure? Bennington Museum Appraisal Fair
Have you always wondered how much something was worth, or maybe what it actually did? The Bennington Museum will hold its Third Annual Appraisal Fair on Saturday, Mar. 29 from 1-4 p.m. Bring family heirlooms or the odd, quirky piece you always wanted to know about, and let an expert panel of art and antique appraisers explain and evaluate your items.

Among the appraisers will be Charles Flint, of Charles L. Flint Antiques in Lenox, MA who has an impressive background and knowledge of antiques. He has performed appraisals and authentications for many museums, as well as private collectors and insurance companies. A member of the New England Appraisers Association, he has particular strengths in 17th to 19th century oil paintings, early furniture, revolutionary and civil war items, toys, dolls, games, paper and rare books, clocks and barometers, and numerous other areas.

Mary Anne Lukas, the owner of Southern Vermont Auction Gallery in Wallingford, VT, will once again join the panel of experts. Mary Anne has over 15 years of experience in evaluating, marketing, and selling auction items. She offers appraisals of personal property, artwork, antiques, and decorative objects.

Kevin Armstrong, of Armstrong Jewelers in Bennington, is just the man to talk about that special piece of jewelry you would like appraised. Kevin developed a passion for fine craftsmanship and jewels at an early age. Years of perfecting his technical abilities show in every piece of jewelry he creates. Kevin does appraisals of estate and other jewelry from his shop on a regular basis.

Come visit the Bennington Museum’s Third Annual Appraisal Fair, and maybe you will discover something valuable or unique! Appraisals are $5 per item, with a limit of 5 items.
