| Local Artist Jack Metzger |
| Photographs and sculptures created from interesting old found objects will be the center of local artist Jack Metzger’s exhibit “Pieces of Life” at the Bennington Museum from Mar. 22 through May 3. Allowing the beauty of seemingly mundane objects to speak through the ages has allowed Metzger to bring out the art in almost anything. “Items, broken, lost, and forgotten become my art,” states the artist. His work includes photographs of an old bottle cap and a group of broken glass bottles arranged on the tines of an ancient pitch fork.
The exhibit at the museum will provide a look into the past, in addition to a deeper understanding of ancestry. Metzger, proprietor of Jack’s Outback in Cambridge, has owned his antiques and collectibles shop since 1992. Metzger is a recipient of the Photographer’s Forum Magazine’s Award of Excellence in 2006 and 2007. |
