Buffet and Symposium to Honor Volunteers at the Bennington Museum

 

Join the Bennington Museum on Wednesday, April 25 for a full day of behind-the-scenes activities!  The museum is hosting a special event to honor the volunteers who are so essential to the smooth running of any non-profit organization, and welcome anyone who is considering becoming a volunteer.  As a way of thanking these devoted helpers, the day will include a delicious buffet luncheon and a series of talks by staff members about all the activities their jobs entail. 

Throughout the day, participants can attend various talks outlining the way each department at the museum runs.  Those attending may choose the sessions they wish to attend when making reservations.

The schedule for the day is the following:

           9:00 -9:30     Coffee and visiting in the Paul Paresky Museum Court

            9:30-9:50     Keynote address by Stephen Perkins, Executive Director

     10:00 – 10:50     What Does a Curator Do Anyway?

All sessions will repeat in the same pattern in the afternoon, with start times at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., allowing participants to attend as many as four out of the eight presentations.

 

Admission for this exciting day is free (including lunch) to all currently active volunteers.  The museum would love to invite all others who are interested in getting a behind-the-scenes look at how the museum operates.  Admission for non-volunteers for the day long program, and the lunch buffet is $15/person.
