Classical Trio To Perform At The Bennington Museum
A classical trio will perform music of Brahms, Schubert, Spohr and Liszt in the Ada Paresky Education Center at the Bennington Museum on Sunday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. Members of the group are Jonathan Greene, clarinet; Richard Cherry, piano; and Alexina Jones, lyric coloratura soprano. Greene is a recent graduate of Skidmore College where he was the recipient of the prestigious Filene Music Scholarship. Jones, a recent graduate of NYU’s Steinhardt School, has been the winner of the Albany Mendelssohn Competition twice. She is the founder of the Hubbard Hall Opera Theater which promotes quality opera to this area. Cherry has worked as a soloist and collaborative pianist for 25 years. He has been a faculty member of the Canberra School of Music in Australia and Rockland Conservatory of Music and Blue Rock School in New York.

The performance will feature Schubert’s Shepherd on the Rock scored for soprano, piano, and clarinet, in addition to pieces from Ludwig Spohr’s “Sechs Deutsche Lieder” and Johannes Brahms’ “Sonata in E-flat Major for Clarinet and Piano”.

Admission is $7 per person for members and $10 per person for non-members.

The Bennington Museum is located at 75 Main Street (Route 9), Bennington, in The Shires of Vermont. The museum is just a short ride from Manchester, Williamstown, and eastern New York.
