Club Muse: Saturday Night Speak Easy
Get your Great Gatsby On, give the secret word, and join the fun at Bennington Museum’s Club Muse on Saturday, April 12. From 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., drinks inspired by the Prohibition Period will need to be ordered quietly from the cash bar, but enjoyed fully with friends and family at the Club Muse “Speakeasy”. Similar to original higher-end speakeasy establishments, Club Muse offers an upscale environment with food and live music by Jazz-X and Mo. However, unlike the clubs of the 1920’s, this Speakeasy is totally legal. Have your picture taken with the 1924 Wasp Touring Car. View the 1916 silent movie “A Vermont Romance”, the Vermont Progressive Party’s moral tale about an orphaned country girl forced to take factory work in town. Only $5 cover at the door, or buy your tickets in advance at Pangaea Restaurant and Lounge.
Sponsored by Chittenden Bank and supported by the Bennington County Young Professionals and Pangaea Restaurant and Lounge, you can find “Club Muse” on the second floor of the Bennington Museum located at 75 Main Street (Rt. 9), Bennington, in the Shires of Vermont. Unlike the original speakeasies, the location of Club Muse is not a secret, so do tell all your friends to join you for a wonderful evening. The museum is just a short ride from Manchester, Williamstown and Eastern New York. Visit www.benningtonmuseum.org or call 802-447-1571 for upcoming themes.
