June Arts Opens At The Bennington Museum
For the fifth consecutive year Bennington's June Arts festival will hold its opening events at the Bennington Museum on Friday, June 6 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Ada Paresky Education Center. A town-wide celebration of culture and the arts organized by the Bennington Cultural and Arts Council and its partners, this program is free and open to the public. The speaker for the opening of June Arts will be landscape architect Robert Truskowski of Old Bennington. Truskowski has a national and international practice with offices in Florida and California. An exhibition of his work, Garden Paradise: The landscape architecture of Robert Truskowski, will accompany his talk and remain at the museum throughout the month.

Educated in California and at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, Truskowski has for 35 years pursued a large and ambitious practice focusing primarly on estates and larger homes. His range of materials and design are varied and closely tuned to his clients' needs. Outside of California and Florida, his projects in the U.S. include locations in New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut in the Northeast. His international work includes projects in France, Austria, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia, as well as the landscape design for the West Indian retreat of rock star Mick Jagger. In 2007 Robert Truskowski was named by the Robb Report as one of the twelve best landscape architects in the world.

The Bennington Museum is located at 75 Main Street (Route 9), Bennington, in The Shires of Vermont. The museum is just a short ride from Manchester, Williamstown, and eastern New York. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the museum is closed on Wednesdays. Visit www.benningtonmuseum.org or call 802-447-1571 for more information about the museum.
