The Bennington Museum is a regional Museum of history, decorative arts, and fine arts, and is dedicated to the collection, preservation, and interpretation of artifacts and documents relating to the social, cultural, and historical development of Bennington County, the State of Vermont, and adjacent areas in New York and Massachusetts.

It is only through research that we are able to achieve the above goals. The museum engages in research through a variety of different avenues, most notably our exceptional research library and vast collections. The Library and Collections sections of this site provide brief introductions to these important facets of the Bennington Museum. The Walloomsac Review is a scholarly publication that serves as an outlet for research on topics related to the above stated goals. Finally, the Curatorial Essays page is an online platform intended for those interested in learning more about objects in the collection via the web.
