Any time of year is a wonderful time to visit the Bennington Museum. From the museum’s permanent collection, items such as Bennington Pottery, the 1924 Wasp Touring Car, Fine Art, Vermont Furniture, and the Bennington Flag – one of America’s oldest flags - are always on view. Throughout each year, temporary exhibits change and have included displays that ranged from "Alice Neel/Erastus Salisbury Field: Painting the People" recognized by The Wall Street Journal as one of the nine most memorable exhibitions in North American in 2014 and the 1863 Jane Stickle Quilt to the grassroots art - fokl ark, outsider art and visionary art displayed in the current "Inward Adorings of the Mind: Grassroots Art from the Bennington Museum and Blasdel/Koch Collections.”
You can always stroll through the Gilded Age Vermont Gallery or right next door, the Bennington Modernism Gallery. Innovative, Creative, Edgy, Historic. These are just a few of the words that describe the Bennington Hnored by Yankee Magazine Editor's Choice as the Best Museum Makeover in 2015, you need to come by and see what the fuss is all about. In addition to the exhibits, there are events and classes for children and adults throughout the year.
Just a short drive from Albany, the Berkshires, Northern New Jersey and the Canadian border, the Bennington Museum is just one of the many stops in the wonderful town of Bennington. Come and Explore! We know you will be happy you did.
